We are a fundraising company with one opinion.
GivePort is an Australian fundraising platform for not-for-profits: charities, schools, clubs, churches and community groups. Everything else about it — the campaigns, the receipts, the ticketing — exists to serve a single conviction: an organisation and its donors should both be able to see exactly what the software costs, before money moves.
Origin
Fundraising platforms have a habit of quoting a rate that is not the rate. A headline percentage, then a subscription, then a surcharge, then a conversion margin — each disclosed somewhere, none of them where a donor would ever encounter them.
GivePort started as a refusal to do that. We picked one fixed platform fee and published it. We declined to put a subscription underneath. We put the arithmetic on the checkout screen, at the exact moment it is least convenient for us and most useful to the person giving. No hidden fees, by design.
The organisation decides whether to absorb the processing fee or let donors cover it. Either way the number is on screen. That is the whole philosophy, and it is deliberately small enough to hold in one hand.
What we hold to
Three principles
The fee is part of the product
If a price only becomes legible after the contract is signed, the opacity is the business model. Ours is one line — 2% + $0.20 per online donation — shown upfront at checkout, where a donor can still walk away.
Charge on outcomes, not access
No monthly subscription on the core platform. A small charity that raises nothing in March owes nothing in March. Software should not bill you for the privilege of trying.
Do not reinvent the vault
Card processing runs on Stripe. We never touch or store raw card credentials. There are places where being clever is a liability, and other people's payment details is the first of them.
The platform
What actually runs here
Not a donate button bolted onto a website. The operational half of not-for-profit fundraising — the part that usually costs you a second subscription and a spreadsheet.
